Business Plan

Two new documents are now available which explain the work the ILF will be doing over the next 3 years.

The Strategic Plan sets out the long term goals and anticipates the key themes that will drive us as an organisation over the next 3 years and the Business Plan outlines what we aim to have achieved in the year from April 2016 to March 2017 as a contribution to the longer term 3 year plan.

These documents arrive at a time when the whole field of social care provision is rapidly evolving.

The No 10 Strategy Unit report "Improving the Life Chances of Disabled People", the Department of Health Green Paper "Independence, Well Being and Choice" and White Paper "Our Health, Our Care, Our Say" demonstrate a vision for the future that allows greater choice and control for disabled people - an opportunity for all to lead full and independent lives.

The ILF is committed to working with and alongside the various initiatives that have developed from this vision, to build on our success as a provider of financial assistance to severely disabled people and to play a vital role in the continuing development of social care provision.  Our own consultation with our users has given us an insight into their personal experiences and a vision of the organisation we strive to be.

The Business Plan is called "Providing a Better Choice for Disabled People" - a title that conveys the theme underpinning our long term aims for the organisation.  Work will be ongoing across a range of areas including process simplification, reorganisation of the administration into regions and improvement in presentation of our support and sevices with a clear focus on choice and control for the user.

There are other changes happening for us an organisation at the same time.  In September 2005 our status changed to be listed as an Executive Non Departmental Public Body.  We also await the outcome of the current Review of the ILF, the report of which is expected in early 2017.

Everyone associated with the ILF has a strong and positive commitment to the challenging work programme we have set.

We are very interested in any views you may have no the two documents and each one explains how you can contact us.

We will respond to all comments made.
