Results from the Worldwide Property Group’s latest confidence tracker survey have shown that the number of investors benefiting from the UK’s low interest rates is at a seven-month high of 71 per cent.

Managing director Kevin Wilkes commented that, while the mortgage market remains challenging, would-be buyers are still confident about their investment prospects.

“Once again, this survey reveals the confidence that people have in property. Even though it has faced strong headwinds, the market has demonstrated remarkable resilience and surprising stability,” he added.

For the second consecutive month, respondents to the Worldwide Property Group survey were equally divided over predictions of interest rates either rising or staying the same in the coming months.

The research also indicated a 26 per cent increase in the number of people who believe that now is a good time to purchase overseas property.

“Around the world, many locations such as Spain and the US now offer rock-bottom prices, leading to resurgence in their popularity with buyers,” Wilkes went on to say.

Meanwhile, the latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) survey revealed that activity in Britain’s housing market continued to slow in November, with house prices slipping further.
