New User Information Leaflets

The ILF has published its new range of user information leaflets.  The 22 leaflets - which replace the previous User Guide - have been sent out to all existing ILF users and will be issued to all new applicants prior to their assessment visit.

The leaflets were developed in response to feedback about the old User Guide.  The aim has been to make information about the ILF more accessible.  With the help of users and disability organisations we have tried to create a more user-friendly set of leaflets by using appropriate images, colours and plain English.

Consultation with users has told us what information people require when they start getting money from the ILF.  For this reason, we have included not just information about the responsibilities people have if they get an ILF award, but also signposts to other useful organisations that can help people be employers.

We feel that presenting the information in a simpler format is an improvement.  The new leaflets cover a lot of detail in just 22 single A4 leaflets, compared to the 133 pages of the old User Guide.  By sending the new packs to all our users we feel we are giving the information to everyone who needs it.

We are fully committed to updating the leaflets regularly and making further improvements if necessary.  We want to know what people think.  You can tell us by emailing: feedback@irfs.org.uk or by contacting Jane Jephson or Jon Duckworth, User Liaison Managers on 0845 601 8815.
