Users Invited To Discussions

The Independent Living Funds has organised six meetings across Great Britain for our users to attend throughout March 2009.

We are committed to putting our users' views at the heart of everything we do and these meetings represent the opening phase of discussions about how we can develop our role. We want our users ideas and opinions about our future development and to help us plan our Single Equality Scheme.  The meetings will be taking place at the following times and venues:

9 March 2009: Caerphilly at The New Cottage Dance Centre (11.00 - 15.00)

13 March 2009: Cardiff at Novotel Cardiff Centre (09.30 - 13.00)

16 March 2009: London at The Resource Centre, Holloway Road (11.00 - 15.00)

17 March 2009: Glasgow at The Centre for Inclusive Living (11.00 - 15.00)

19 March 2009: Birmingham at Maple House, Corporation Street (11.00 - 15.00)

24 March 2009: Middlesbrough at The Middlesbrough Teaching & Learning Centre (09.30 - 13.00)

We will send invites to all of our users that live nearby these venues but any of our users can ask to attend.  We are offering the limited spaces we have for these events on a first come first served basis.  However, we can retain your details for future consultation and discussion meetings should you wish.  We anticipate further opportunities for our users and stakeholders to take part in events through 2009-2010.

We will provide refreshments at the meetings, including lunch, and we can also reimburse any reasonable expenses you incur from attending.

For more information or to request a space at one of the meetings, contact Jon Duckworth, User Liaison Manager, by emailing or ring 0115 945 0773.
